SPRINGVILLE - Despite having to play overtime with just four players, Gowanda (2-4) survived West Valley, winning the consolation final of the Emerling Ford Holiday Tournament, 66-63.
"We had to play overtime with four guys," Gowanda head coach Andy Bobseine said. "We got into foul trouble, but we were able to capture the win that way, which I had never done before."
Zach Stevens led the Panthers with a team-high 24 points and 30 rebounds while Chase Williams added 17 points and Jordan Young 15.
"Stevens played a heck of a game," Bobseine said. "I don't know if (Steven's rebound total) is a school record, but it's got to be pretty close. He controlled the second half. Everybody jumped on his shoulders and went with him."
West Valley was led by Mike Grigsby's 24 points while Marcus Enser had nine points and Colton Myers eight points.
