Willis Earl Snell, 87 years old, of Kelly Hill Road, Stockton, New York passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday afternoon December 30, 2012 at Brooks Memorial Hospital following an extended Illness.
Willis was born in Stockton, New York on July 10, 1925 and was the son of the late William and Mable Blodgett Snell. He lived in the Stockton area all of his life. Willis had been a self employed dairy farmer in Stockton his entire life and was currently retired. He also was employed for many years as a custodian for the Brocton Central School District. He was a member of the Stockton Community Church and a member of the Stockton Grange and Farm Bureau. Among the many things that Willis thououghly enjoyed was cutting timber, reading and baking.
He is survived by two sons William (Afraula) Snell of Fredonia, New York and David (Kay) Snell Of Stockton, New York; 10 grandchildren: Victoria Snell, William Snell, Jessica Snell, Erika Snell, Annetta Snell, Lydia Snell, Hosanna Snell, Joanna Snell, Joshua Snell and Katrina Snell. He is also survived by two sisters Olive (William) Donaldson of South Stockton, N.Y. And Janice(Larry) Carlson of Cassadaga, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife Irine Tanner Snell whom he married in August of 1959 and who passed away in 1985.
Funeral services will be held on Friday morning January 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the Stockton Community Church with the Rev. Richard Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at the Stockton Greenwood Cemetery.
