Dunkirk students’ stock is on the rise

Connor Aitcheson, Angel Echevarria, Dylan Oyer and Daniel Vargas, students in Janet Bongiovanni and Alan Buckley's business classes at Dunkirk High School, placed second out of 88 teams in the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge held at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Buffalo. The teams placed as follows:

Teams competed throughout a variety of schools from Western New York. Also accompanying the students on the trip was teacher Carol Bleck.

Over the course of two hours, the students played in a race to accumulate the highest fictitious stock portfolio. All increased their stock portfolios significantly and learned what it is like to be a stockbroker, along with learning how to invest for personal use.
