Judy L. Covert, 54, of Akron, N.Y. entered into rest Saturday (Jan.12, 2013) in Absolut Care in Gasport, N.Y. following a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Judy was born September 3, 1958 in Batavia, N.Y. the loving daughter of Naomi (Ewald) Covert of Akron and the late Wilbur Covert.
She was a graduate of Akron Central School class of 1976. Following high school Judy continued her education at SUNY Brockport earning a Masters Degree in History.
For several years Judy was employed in the health care industry as a Nurses Aide for several nursing homes in the area.
Before her illness forced her to stop working she was employed at the Oakwood Nursing Home in Williamsville, N.Y.
Judy was a life time member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville. She enjoyed reading, ceramics and was an avid Beatles fan listening to their music all the time. She also enjoyed her cats she had over the years.
Besides her mother, Judy is the dear sister of Karen (late James) Keith of Akron, and Kathy (Bob) Artico of Fredonia, the cherished aunt of Kristin and Jeremy Keith, Matthew Heppner and the late Rebecca "Becky" Spoonhour. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11a.m. in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 6369 Wolcottsville Road, Akron. Rev. Rod Klindzing will officiate. Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, LLC 10 Eckerson Ave. Akron. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
