The OBSERVER

The source of a loud boom heard in the south county Sunday evening has been found.

The Lakewood-Busti Police Department reports that Sgt. Inv. Paul Gustafson interviewed a 20-year-old male today and learned the individual caused the boom. According to the report from the department, the individual stated he mixed three 6-pound boxes of Tannerite together and shot the product with a 30.06 rifle in a ravine on the Lawson Road in the town of Busti, causing a large explosion.
