GOWANDA - For the final three quarters of Monday's CCAA Division 1 girls basketball game between Gowanda and Olean, the scoring was fairly even.

Unfortunately for the Lady Panthers (3-3, 4-7), the Lady Huskies had already built a huge lead thanks to a 20-2 first-quarter advantage.

Olean rode that big lead to a 53-23 win.

Maggie Moore dropped 18 points while securing 11 rebounds to lead Olean. Sarah Ziggler added 13 points for the winners.

Kayla Issac paced the Gowanda attack with nine points - on three treys - and added three steals on defense. Markie John grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds in the loss.

Gowanda will try to get back on track Thursday, with a home game against Dunkirk.
