On Sunday, the Chautauqua County Rural Ministry will partner with Buster Brown Bean Company to offer a winter Soup Cooking Workshop. The workshop will be led by David Culver, chef and co-owner of Buster Brown along with Greg Wollaston.
Participants will enjoy the class at Buster Brown's new location, 21 E. Second St., Dunkirk.
Chef Culver will demonstrate the preparation of a delicious soup for winter months, and will offer tips for successful cooking. Questions and discussion are encouraged.
The mission of Buster Brown Bean Company is to provide the highest quality products and services to the residents of Fredonia, Dunkirk, and the surrounding communities in an ever increasingly eco-friendly and socially conscious manner. Many of their products are associated with non-profit organizations that help raise funds and awareness for humanitarian, environmental and/or animal related causes. They strive to promote programs on local, national and international levels. These include Coffee Kids and Rainforest Alliance. Their coffee grounds and vegetable scraps are picked up twice a week by the CCRM Gleaning Project for their compost piles, in support of their gardening efforts.
Each participant will enjoy a cup of soup prepared by Chef Culver, a baked good, and will take home recipes and a free gift. Participation is free of charge. The class will take place from 3 to 4 p.m.
