JAMESTOWN With horse-drawn sleigh rides, sled dog and live bird demonstrations, crafts, food, a Chinese auction and more, the Audubon Center and Sanctuary's annual Snowflake Festival is always a crowd-pleaser.
The day-long event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, will include past favorites along with new opportunities. The live animal programs are a perennial favorite, and hawks, owls, and reptiles will entertain again this year. Vendors and demonstrators offer sustainable, natural and environmentally-friendly ideas.
Kids' crafts are fun for the little ones, and outdoor activities provide recreation for the whole family. A blanket of snow will be good for the skis, snowshoes and sled dog demonstrations.

Admission to the Snowflake Festival is only $5; children under 12 are $2, and those two and under are free. Extra fees apply for horse-drawn wagon rides, bluebird house building, Chinese auction, raffles, and food.
Snowflake Festival sponsors include United Refining, Herbs R-4-U, Carroll Rod & Gun Club, Randy Ordines Courier Capital, James M. Smith, Gary's CARSTAR, Lake Shore Savings Bank, Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy, Dun Roving Farm Alpacas, Franklin's Honey and Apples, Second Season Mittens, and Ed Shults Subaru.
The Audubon Center and Sanctuary is at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. Winter hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays and Saturdays, and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sundays. The trails and bald eagle viewing are open dawn to dusk daily.
