RIPLEY - The Ripley Eagles (0-9) could not overcome a big first-quarter deficit in falling to Ellicottville, 55-27, Friday in CCAA Division 4 high school basketball.
After falling behind, 19-7 in the first quarter, Ripley hung tight with the visitors the rest of the way, only being outscored, 28-20.
Vinny Schioleno led Ripley with six points.
