WESTFIELD - January finds the Westfield Memorial Hospital Regional Auxiliary Board busy working on the annual membership drive. The board encourages everyone in the area to consider joining this important hospital and community organization.
The board reports that 2012 was another very successful year for WMH Regional Auxiliary. Fund-raisers included the Spring Celebration Luncheon at Chautauqua Institution, the pie booth at the Westfield Arts and Crafts Show in July, Parklane Jewelry sales, Lottery trees, the Walk for Wellness, the Fall Harvest Dinner, and the sale of keepsake porcelain ornaments, magnets and thimbles.
With the funds raised, the board was able to upgrade the surgical waiting room with new paint, accessories and reupholstered furniture. The Women's Health Center was refurbished, painted, and decorated. The Physical Therapy and Cardiac Rehab areas are currently getting a facelift. The in-patient rooms are also being painted, new blinds have been ordered, and decisions are being made as to what other improvements will be made. All of these projects were coordinated by the auxiliary.
Members will soon be receiving their new membership cards in the mail, and they are encouraged to send it in and join in for another productive year. Those who wish to become members and help with the board's worthwhile endeavors may call Judy Fingerhut at 326-6138. She will be delighted to send a membership card and answer any questions about the organization.
The annual membership fee is $5. Mail membership cards and money to Westfield Memorial Hos-pital Regional Auxiliary, 189 E. Main St., Westfield, N.Y., 14787.
