Wilma N. Carmona, 40, of Dunkirk died unexpectedly in her sleep Wednesday morning (Jan. 23, 2013) at home.
She was born Feb. 27, 1972 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Jose Carmona of Hartford, Conn., and Carmen Montanez of Dunkirk.
A Dunkirk resident for most of her life, Wilma at-tended Dunkirk High School.

She will be remembered for her laughter and joyful nature, her strength and fighting spirit forever.
Besides her parents, she is survived by a son, Enrique Carmona and a daughter, Sabrina Carmona, both at home; two sisters, Lizzette Carmona of Dunkirk and Josseline Carmona of Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, Giovany Carmona and Jose (Meagan) Carmona Jr., both of Dunkirk; a loving niece, Daysia; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nanette Carmona and Daiana Carmona.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Pastor Alberto Martinez will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 7-9 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carmona Family to establish a fund for Wilma's children.
