Lena Galofaro, 88, formerly of Dunkirk died Sunday morning (Jan. 27, 2013) at Lake Shore Hospital in Irving. She was born April 2, 1924 in Novara, Italy, the
daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Commissotto) Galofaro. Lena was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and music, and was happiest spending time with family around a home-cooked meal. Survivors include one brother, Louis (Sonja) Galofaro of Dunkirk; and several nieces and nephews, including Nicholas, Anna and Katrina Galofaro. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Galofaro; and two brothers, Sam and Tony Galofaro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Prayer Service Thursday morning at 11 o'clock in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum of Holy Trinity Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service.
