Florence A. Dudzic, 93, peacefully passed away on Saturday (Feb. 2, 2013) at the Chautauqua County Home where she was a resident. She previously lived with her family on Nevins Street and West-beach Road in Dunkirk.
She was born in Dunkirk on Nov. 3, 1919 to the late Charles and Cecelia (Prechtl) Stalter. She was predeceased by Albin Dudzic, her devoted husband of 70 years whom she married in January of 1942. Three brothers: John, Charles Jr. and Francis Stalter also preceded her in death.
Florence is survived by a son Richard (Sally) Dudzic, and a daughter Diane (Gary) Valla of Fredonia; two brothers: Gerald Stalter of Brocton, and David Stalter of Pickens, S. C.; and a sister, Jean Britt of Fredonia. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Sarah Dudzic of Moodus, Conn.; Denise Hilton of Dublin, Ohio; Daniel Dudzic of Fredonia; Mary Beach of Fredonia; Renee Valla of Fredonia; and David Dudzic of Fort Worth, Texas. Great-grandchildren Alyssa, Daniel II, Connor, Ella, Lily, and Ethan and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Florence attended Dunkirk High School. In addition to being a wife and mother, she worked at the Van Raalte Mill and St. Vincent's Home in Dunkirk. She spend much of her later life with her beloved husband and grandchildren.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held privately and interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Dunkirk. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home in Dunkirk.
