Fredonia State swept the SUNYAC weekly diving awards announced Monday.
On the men's side, senior Ryan Fuller was named SUNYAC Men's Diver of the Week for the sixth time this season. He broke the school-record 3-meter springboard six-dive score with 331.40 points Saturday during the Blue Devils' meet against Brockport and Allegheny, .35 of one point off the pool record.
The previous school record-holder, Scott Horsington, now the diving coach at Brockport, was on hand to witness his record coming down. Horsington's previous school record was 314.75 in 2007. Fuller also posted a 283.90 1-meter springboard diving score. It was the second meet out of the last three meets that he has set a record of some sort. He previously set the Trinity (Texas) Hixon Natatorium record.
On the women's side, junior Katelyn Haley became the third Blue Devil woman to win the SUNYAC Women's Diver of the Week in the 10 weeks. She posted an NCAA qualifying score on the 3-meter board, finishing second to teammate Sarah Ficarro. Haley's score of 269.05 is an example of the steady rise of her performance level. This is the third time she has surpassed the 260-point mark.
Haley also scored 243.50 points - in third place behind teammates Ficarro and Ashley Keller - on the 1-meter board which ranks among her best performances. Ficarro has won the SUNYAC award three times, and Keller has won it twice.
