Man wanted in connection with shooting arrested

A Dunkirk man who was wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred last month was taken into custody Wednesday evening.

James B. Duman, 20, of Dunkirk was wanted on felony warrants related to a Jan. 6 incident on East Second Street in which gunshots were fired through a door of an apartment. Duman was taken into custody by Dunkirk Police at 10 p.m. after he was found to be hiding out at an apartment at 152 Lake Shore Drive East.

After surveillance by undercover officers verified the information, police surrounded the house and knocked on the door. Duman appeared from inside the residence and surrendered without incident. He was charged with two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, a class D felony. He was being held without bail pending arraignment in Dunkirk City Court.
