Lucille M. (Castellana) Rizzo, 88, of Fredonia, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, February 6, 2013 at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo.
She was born December 15, 1924, in Fredonia, daughter of the late Thomas G. Sr. and Mary (Barone) Castellana.
Lucille married Salvatore C. Rizzo Sr. on November 9, 1946, and they were together for 45 years until his death on October 25, 1991.

Her memberships included St. Anthony's R. C. Church, life member of the St. Lucy Society, a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, CAIO Chautauqua American Italian Organization, Women of the Moose, former board member of Fredonia Share and Care, Fredonia Senior Citizens, United Senior Citizens, Coordinator of 55 Alive Defensive Driving, Ladies Club Cups and Saucers, many card clubs, charter member and treasurer of SOAR, and former president of Eagle Street School PTA.
Lucille was an excellent cook, loved baking, playing cards, knitting and crocheting. She was a loving moth-er, grandmother and great- grandmother.
She also loved her grand puppies.
Surviving are her children, Leonard (Susan) Rizzo of California, Salvatore J. (Nancy) Rizzo Jr., of Florida, Frances (late Lawrence) Dudzic of Fredonia; 6 grandchildren, Theresa (Mitch) Butier, Michele (Nigel) Kershaw, Christina (Bill Cooper) Rizzo, S. Joseph Rizzo III, Alison (Larry) Spac-ciapolli, Meghan (Katie Diebold) Dudzic; and great- grandchildren An-drew Butier, Jacob Butier, Kayla Kershaw, Luke Kershaw, Victoria Spacciapolli, Julianna Spacciapolli and Gianna Rizzo Cooper, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore J. Rizzo Sr.; sisters Mary Barone and Caroline Logano; brother Vincent Castellana; twin brother Thomas G. Castellana Sr., who died February 1, 2013; and son-in-law Lawrence Dudzic, who died February 20, 2012.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk today from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 AM in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
