Dunkirk man charged with DWI

Chautauqua County Sheriff dispatch received a complaint of a vehicle that was being operated in an unsafe manner. Deputies located the vehicle and reportedly observed it violating two vehicle and traffic laws. The deputies stopped the vehicle and identified Vasquez-Torres as the operator. They reported he was driving while intoxicated. He refused to submit to the prescreen alcohol sensor.

He was issued tickets and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Around 6:20 p.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies and Silver Creek Police responded to a call about a despondent person Alleghany Road in the town of Hanover. While attempting to locate the individual and obtain the status of his well being, Vincent E. Tundo, 58, of Alleghany Road in Hanover allegedly pushed the Silver Creek Police out of the door, quickly locking it behind them, barring law enforcement from further investigating the situation. For allegedly interfering with the investigation into the well being check and safety of the individual, Tundo was arrested for second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, and second-degree harassment. Tundo was later issued appearance tickets and will appear in the town of Hanover court at a later date.
