SILVER CREEK - Vera Edna Thomson, 86, of Silver Creek, passed into life triumphant on Monday morning (Feb. 11, 2013) at the TLC Lake Shore Nursing Home in Irving, NY.
She was born March 23, 1926 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of the late Philip and Lettie (Windt) Green.
Vera was a homemaker. She met her husband Archie while he was serving his country with the Royal Canadian Air Force.
A member of Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church of Silver Creek, Vera loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also belonged to the Tri-County Country Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed bowling and golf, was a past Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and dearly loved her children and their families. She al-ways enjoyed time with each of them.
Survivors include six children, Gary and Callee Thomson of Huntersville, N.C., Rich and Elaine Thomson of Altoona, IA, Linda and Jim Bialaszewski of Dunkirk, Judy and John Orr of Lawrenceville, GA, Dwight (Christine) Thomson of Angola and Craig (fiancee Connie Skubis) Thomson of Silver Creek; a sister, Bernice Stephens of Portage la Prairie, Canada; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Archie E. Thomson.
Friends are welcome to call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. from where a funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11 o'clock with the Rev. Michael Leamon officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
