JAMESTOWN - The Chautauqua County Humane Society will serve as a host site for the "Big Read" event at the Strunk Road Adoption Center on Saturday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Community members are invited to attend at no charge to participate in a book discussion about author Jack London's "Call of the Wild." Four seniors from SUNY Fredonia's English program will facilitate, and CCHS will have staff and a canine participant on hand to add to the atmosphere.
Also on Saturday, the Lakeshore Humane Society will host a Big Read discussion, "Calling all Dog Lovers: Exploring 'The Call of the Wild,'" from noon to 1:30 p.m. at 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk. SUNY Fredonia Senior English majors will lead the book discussion. All are welcome.
