Collins troopers charge teen after domestic incident
COLLINS - New York State Troopers Tuesday arrested Davin Lay, 19, of Route 438 in Collins for third-degree assault, third-degree menacing and criminal obstruction of breathing following a domestic incident with his girlfriend that morning.
Lay reportedly confronted his girlfriend inside her home, after she spent the previous night at a friend's. Lay allegedly chased her into a bedroom and pushed her onto the ground, grabbing her around the throat, holding her down and yelling at her. According to the report, the assault continued as he picked her up and shook her. Lay dragged her into another bedroom and threw her onto a bed, before then throwing her into a wall.
The victim left the residence and short time later and went to another friend's home and then to the SNI Marshals office, where she reported the assault.
She was treated at Lake Shore Hospital for her injuries and released.
Lay was processed at SP Collins and arraigned in the Town of Collins Court. He was released to a family member and is due back in court next month.
