Theodore J. "Sonny" Sek Jr., 86, of Dunkirk died Tuesday morning (Feb. 26, 2013) at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk. He was born Aug. 12, 1926 in Dunkirk, the son of the late Theodore J. and Victoria (Tabaczka) Sek. A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Mr. Sek served in
the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had been employed as steel worker at AL Tech Specialty Steel Corp., retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Church and Dunkirk Moose Lodge No. 89. Theodore enjoyed boating and fishing. Survivors include his

wife, Edna (Galofaro) Sek; three sons, Theodore J. (Linda) Sek III of Portland, Maine, and Gregory (Karen) Sek and Kenneth (Pamela) Sek, both of Dunkirk; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Sek; and a sister, Gloria Smith. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in Holy Trinity Church. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the VA Hospital in Buffalo.
