‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’

Students in grades 7-12 at Chautauqua Lake Central School will present the secondary school musical, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," on Friday and Saturday, March 8 and 9, at 7 p.m. in the district auditorium. In the story, the Pontipee brothers set out to woo the girls, once they realize that kidnapping them may not have been the best idea. The stage version, based on a 1954 musical film, features book by Lawrence Kasha and David Landay, lyrics by Johnny Mercer, music by Gene DePaul, and new songs by Al Kasha and Joel Hirschorn. Tickets are available at the door or from any cast member. Children 4 and under may attend for free. Senior citizens may attend a free preview on Thursday, March 7, at 7 p.m., as may those who have purchased pre-sale tickets for the Friday or Saturday performance.
