Bears take on snake handling

March 2, 2013
The OBSERVER

On Feb. 11, the Bear Scouts from Pack 252 in Silver Creek had a special visit to Just Pets in Irving. During the tour, the boys were able to see and learn about a wide variety of the animals that are residents at the store, and were even given the opportunity to exhibit team work as seen in the photo. Most of the boys worked together to hold the snake, while a few opted out. At the end of the evening, the scouts shared cupcakes that one of the scouts had made, with both the manager and the store owner. Just another example of the wide variety of things the scouts do as they earn their rank. Again, a special thanks goes to Just Pets for making the evening a little more special than just your average trip to the pet store. The Bears would also like to thank the owners of Just Pets and Stage Coach West for their support through the recent Pop Can Drive.
