Brocton Preceptor Beta Epsilon
Members of the Brocton Preceptor Beta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met recently at the home of Lois Smith who also served as co-hostess.
Janice Hipwell was congratulated as the 2013 Valentine Queen. She was crowned at the group's recent dinner at the Colony in Irving.
The Social Committee reported on several upcoming events in the area. Some members will be attending the Harvestview Greenhouse Event on Wednesday. A trip to "Plantasia" is planned for March 22 and several members will be visiting the Broadway Market on March 23.
Members are busy purchasing attractive towels for their annual Towel Bingo which is being held this year on Sunday, March 17 at the Brocton American Legion beginning at 1 p.m. Each member is donating four towels, four dozen cookies and two items for the Chinese auction. The chapter has also purchased a large number of towels.
Smith and Margie Boltz are qualified to receive their master's degree, which is a Sixth Degree with Beta Sigma Phi and this special honor will be conferred on them on Tuesday, April 23 with dinner following at the Fireside Manor.
Pledge training has begun for new member Regina Hesslink. She was welcomed by members of the group who are pleased by her decision to join Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Pledge training meetings will be conducted by Vice President Roberta Valentine.
Dorothy Frontuto presented an interesting program on St. Patrick's Day celebrations and traditions. She commented on some old Irish traditions and new celebrations that are not practiced in Ireland but here in the United States. She presented members with a sheet of Irish blessings and sayings.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. at the home of Judy Travis with Valerie Lis serving as co-hostess. Jessie Hannold will present the program.
