The annual Northern Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association tournament got underway in earnest Friday afternoon at Steele Hall, as there are 15 teams in the Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget divisions participating.
The tournament began with a game each on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Jamestown Lakers 4,
NCCYHA Steelers 3
The Lakers received three goals from Cooper Spielman and another from Trenton Shutters, helping the Lakers to the win. Assists were credited to Shutters, Chase Jones and Evan Bishop.
For the Steelers, Zachary Korzeniewski, Ikaika Wojcindki and Hunter Hehir all scored while assists were credited to Gabe Schrader, Alexander Rush and Jack Swanson.
Pee Wee Division
NCCYHA Steelers 3, Jamestown Lakers 0
Tyler Sack, Cassandra Essek and Alex Venn all scored in the win for the Steelers with assists going to Nicholas Pchelka, Hunter Rizzo, Stephen Aldrich and Owen Nicosia.
Pee Wee Division
West Seneca Wings 5, Hamburg Hawks 1
Luke Pukalo scored a pair of goals in the Wings' win while Connor Finnegan, Max Dobrick and Mark Narby also tallied goals for West Seneca. Assists were credited to Narby (two), Daniel Maywalt and Matthew Pitiss.
For the Hawks, Jordan Rusin scored unassisted.
NCCYHA Steelers 2, Hamburg Hawks 2
The Steelers and Hawks skated to a 2-all tie in Bantam Division action, as the Steelers received goals from Nicholas Walter and Devin Drummond while the Hawks' goals were scored by Alex Vasiloff.
Earning assists for the Hawks were Matt Ranger, Noah Klumpp and Mike Boyd. Both Steelers' goals were unassisted.
Aurora Ice 2, Erie Lions 2
The Ice and Lions skated to a 2-2 deadlock in Squirt Division play.
Scoring for the Ice were Gary Harkiewicz and Chris Keller, with assists going to Sam Morgan and Matteo Duennebacke.
For the Lions, Brandon Helman scored a pair of goals, with assists going to George Woods and Dominic Kaiser.
NCCYHA Steelers 4, Cheektowaga Warriors 1
Riley Harris, Dylan Munson, Andrew Chillemi and Tyler Lokietek all scored in the Steelers' win while assists went to Ryan Meredith, Josh Veloski (two), Mike Johnson and Dylan Munson (two).
Jacob Miller scored the lone goal for the Warriors with assists going to Brandon Kindzierski and Lucas Chojnicki.
Bud Bakewell Bruins 4, Hamburg Hawks 2
Kyle Niemiec and Kevin Rechlin scored in the win for the Bruins with Alex Garey picking up four assists.
Scoring for the Hawks were Patrick Cooley and Andrew Beiter. David Held and Wes Ireland each had an assist.
Tournament action continues today, with the championship games scheduled for Sunday.
