WESTFIELD - The David Harper family of Westfield can now escape to their own "private" island having recently won the two-door, two-drawer Espresso Cabinet/Island featuring an exquisite granite counter top.
The raffle was sponsored by the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation this past year.
Home Base Products of Fredonia donated the cabinet and Countertop Solutions of Clymer custom made and contributed the granite top.
WMH Administrator Patty Ballman congratulates Cindy Harper, winner of the granite-topped Island Raffle (donated by Home Base of Fredonia and Counter Top Solutions of Clymer) along with WMHF Development Director Patty DiPalma.
The cabinet has a 10-inch overhang with room underneath for two stools which is perfect for the Harpers and their extended family.
The drawing was held recently at Westfield Memorial Hospital with the winning ticket selected by WMH Administrator Patty Ballman.
"I'd like to thank the WMH Foundation for providing this wonderful opportunity to benefit our community hospital," Ballman said. "It was very exciting to draw the winning ticket."
"I am overwhelmed," winner Cindy Harper exclaimed. "I keep thinking of that infamous New York State Lotto slogan of 'Hey you never know!' Winning this beautiful island was an unexpected surprise and we look forward to using it for many years to come."
The WMH Foundation extends its thanks to the kind and generous donors who made this $1,100 fundraiser possible: Home Base Products owners Kim Woodward and Tammy Petz (the store is located at 156 Newton St. in Fredonia) and owner Dan McAfoose of Countertop Solutions, located at 593 Maple Ave. in Clymer.
Proceeds from the raffle benefited the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation 2012 Campaign.
