County residents who live in villages in both Chautau-qua and Cattaraugus counties once again hit the polls Tuesday.
Polls were open from noon to 9 p.m. at most polling sites as mayors and trustees were decided upon.

Election inspectors Regina Burlingame and Trudy Coulcher await voters in the village of Cassadaga. Cassadaga used a ballot that could be scanned by the optical machines; but instead used a wooden ballot box. A total of 36 voters cast ballots in an uncontested election.
In the village of Gowanda, Heather McKeever won the election for mayor with 246 votes over challenger Peter P. Johnson with 139 votes. There were two write-in votes.
For village trustee, Carol A. Sheibley and Paul M. Zimmermann were running uncontested. Sheibley received 281 votes and Zimmermann received 289 votes.
There were six write-in votes.
Scott R. Kerr won the village of South Dayton mayoral race with 37 votes in an uncontested race. There were 18 write-in votes.
There were five candidates running for three trustee seats. Winning a one-year term in an uncontested race was Kristen L. Griffin with 57 votes.
For a two-year term, Dennis D. Ackley and Lynn J. Rupp won with 39 votes and 31 votes, respectively.
Also running were Lori K. Peterson, who received 22 votes, and Robert W. Killock, who received 26 votes.
Village Trustees DeEtte Dispenza and James Rensel, running unopposed on the Democrat and Republican party lines, were re-elected with 26 votes. Republican Timothy Dunn, running for the vacant trustee position, received 19 votes.
The village residents also approved a measure to move the spring village election to November. The proposition received no opposing votes.
Three men were running for two trustee seats on the Brocton Village Board. Winning the seats for election Tuesday evening were Gary Planty with 109 votes and Arthur Donovan with 88 votes. Nicholas A. Rizzo III received 33 votes.
In the village of Cherry Creek, three candidates were running for two open seats on the Village Board. Winning were Bethany Gross-Smock with 45 votes and Bruce W. Henricks with 43 votes. John F. Lukaszewski also ran and received 22 votes. There were 15 write-in votes.
Kenneth C. France was elected mayor in the village of Sinclairville with 15 votes. For two trustee seats, Patricia J. France received 15 votes and David N. Emmott received 14 votes. Both races were uncontested.
LeeAnn Lazarony was re-elected mayor for the village of Cassadaga with 34 votes. There was one write in vote for mayor.
Winning trustee were Michael Lehnen with 29 votes and Jeffrey Frick with a total of 34 votes. Both races were uncontested.
