Waite said he was retiring from the village board but not from his other activities or his occupation as a dentist.
Village Clerk Roxanne Astry said, "Thank you for the time you gave to the board. ... I appreciate that you handled problems in a mild manner."
Waite said in the past ten years, there have been many changes.
"Yes there have been ups and downs with the board, but life is like that," he said.
He said he appreciated working as a team with the board, and singled out the water project as the major one he is happy that the board has undertaken.
Mayor LeeAnn Lazarony presented Waite with a plaque recognizing his service. In addition, once the meeting was adjourned, a personalized cake was shared by those present. Waite's parents, Ron and Geraldine Waite, his brother Daryl and his wife Jill were present for the occasion.
