Alonge off to Great Start for Mercyhurst-North East
Westfield Academy and Central School Class of 2012 graduate, Austin Alonge, is off to a great start for the Mercyhurst-North East Saints baseball team this spring.
On Friday, March 22, the World War II Vets Club and Kosciuszko Club faced off for the Dunkirk Men's Floor Hockey Championship. In a rematch from last year's finals, the Kosciuszko Club came up with the win for their second-straight league championship, as they topped the WWII Vets, 3-1. Scoring for the Kosciuszko Club were Jim Rozen, Dan Nickle and Adam Woelfle. Winning goalie was Bernard Jakiela. Jason Burnett scored the lone goal for the WWII Vets. Through 18 games, the freshman leads the team in several offensive categories.
Alonge is ranked first on the team for batting average (.407), hits (24), on-base percentage (.485), runs scored (18) and triples (4). He is second on the team in slugging percentage (.593) and RBIs (12).
Alonge has started at third base every game and has helped the Saints to an 11-7 record. Alonge also pitched three innings in relief in a March 1 game in Myrtle Beach, S.C., striking out two, allowing one hit and one earned run to help the Saints defeat Olney Central College, 9-6.
The Saints are currently ranked 20th in the nation for NJCAA Division II schools.

The email should include the participant's name, age, preferred team (if they have one), T-shirt size contact name and phone number.
Players must be 5-7 years old as of Dec. 31, 2012. Cost is $5 and needs to be paid at the first game. A coach is needed for Sinclairville and Stockton.
Wednesday Evening Men's League
The Wednesday Evening Men's League will meet on April 17, at 7 p.m. at the Pinehurst Golf Course. All returning and new teams are asked to be there.
Rule changes and other important issues will be discussed and members are invited to arrive at 5 p.m. to participate in a 9-hole fun match if possible.

WNY PGA Announces Pee Wee Tour
The Western New York PGA Section is excited to announce that registration for the Pee Wee Tour has begun.
The Pee Wee Tour is for kids ages 5-9 who are just learning the game of golf. The tour is designed to be a fun and non-competitive way to introduce junior golfers to the game of golf. The tour consist of seminars and non-competitive golf tournaments, where the players play five holes from modified tees and have their parents/grandparents caddie for them.
