Harry J. "Joe" Remington, 66, of The Villages, Florida died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Ocala Regional Hospital with his loving family at his side.
Born in Salamanca, N.Y., he was the son of the late Harry and Ann Remington. Joe is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cathy Appel; two sons: Michael and
his wife Rebecca of Steamboat, Colorado and Christopher and his wife Amy of Kensington, Md.; five grandchildren: Mason, Abigail, Madeline, Connor and
Cole. He is also survived by eight siblings: James (Sherry) Remington, Bonnie (Ron) Bradley, Judy Fingerhut, Linda Miller, Margaret (John) Pizzuto,
Mryna (Harry) Pugh, Anita (Andy) Calcaterra, and Robert (Pam) Remington. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Susan Johnson.
Joe graduated from Brocton Central School and was a graduate of Morrisville College and Indiana University. He was a food industry executive for 46
years, retiring from Ralcorp, Inc., in February 2013. During his career he was involved in many professional organizations. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Upon his retirement and move to The Villages, he was involved in various social clubs, including the Woodworker's Club and the Chautauqua County
Club. He also was an avid golfer. He spent his life being a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was cherished by his family and friends and will be dearly
missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated April 4, at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic's Church in Brocton, N.Y. Full Military Honors will be provided by
Post 434 at the funeral. A Celebration of Life reception will follow the Mass at the Clarion Hotel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be
made to the American Heart Association or the Brocton Central Hall Of Fame Fund.
