Richard L. Flick, 84, of Dunkirk died Friday evening (March 29, 2013) at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
He was born Feb. 23, 1929 in Broadway, Va., the son of the late Paul and Mary (Bowman) Flick.
Mr. Flick was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952 to 1953.
He had been the owner and operator of F.B. & H. Construction in Falls Church, Va.
Mr. Flick was a member of Victory Baptist Church in the Town of Sheridan.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene F. (Farr) Flick, whom he married Aug. 14, 1964; five daughters, Jacqueline (Charles) Farris of Paris, Va., Marian (Bruce) Edwards of Warrenton, Va., Barbara (Eric) Zimmerman of Purcellville, Va., Anita (Jake) Warner of Dunkirk and Kathryn (Larry) White of Fredericksburg, Va.; one sister, Virginia Hennen of Sumerduck, Va.; and 13 grandchildren. Many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Flick Jr., Francis Flick, Robert Flick and William Flick; and one sister, Margaret Spitzer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock in Victory Baptist Church, 10659 South Roberts Road, Town of Sheridan. Pastor Patrick Burke will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the church Thursday morning from 10 to 11, one hour prior to the service.
