SHERIDAN - Liberty Vineyards & Winery, of Sheridan, was awarded a number of medals at the San Diego International Wine Competition held recently in San Diego, California.
Liberty Vineyards Noiret won a gold medal at the competition.
"Noiret is one of our most popular dry red wines. It has a nice black pepper characteristic which makes it one of our favorites with steak or blue cheese," Beth Margolis, marketing and events manager, said.
In addition to the gold medal for Noiret, Liberty Vineyards Marquette and Chocolette wines took home silver medals at the competition.
"Marquette and Chocolette are both made from Marquette grapes - Marquette is a newer grape variety that is a grandchild of Pinot Noir," Margolis explained. "Our Marquette wine is a dry red that is very food-friendly, while Chocolette is a sweet version of our Marquette that has been infused with natural chocolate flavor. It is perfect to serve after dinner or even pour over ice cream."
