JAMESTOWN - With contests such as Chau-tauqua's Got Talent and Chautauqua Lake Idol, the Chautauqua Region has been witness to an impressive display of musical talent from all ages. Performers have dazzled audiences with their voices as well as their instruments of choice. Many performers have taken classes to further their musical education and they do not come cheap.
The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation is proud to announce an assortment of musical scholarships available for elementary, high school and college students.
The following scholarships require a common music application found at www.crcfonline.org. It is due May 1.
Rob Buck Memorial Scholarship
To assist an undergraduate student attending an accredited 4-year school. Applicants must be a Chautauqua County High School or Eisenhower High School graduate.
Emily Harrington Crane and Ruth E. Munson Music Scholarship
To assist an undergraduate music major attending an accredited four-year school. Applicants for this scholarship must have graduated from a Chautau-qua County High School.
Pauline N. MarLett Memorial Scholarship
To assist a Jamestown High School graduate attending an accredited four-year music school. Preference is given to a graduating Jamestown High School senior attending the SUNY Fredonia School of Music.
Russell Germaine Sr. Music Scholarship
To assist a graduate of a Chautauqua County High School majoring in music education or music related field.
Lory T. Ventura Music Education Scholarship
To assist a Jamestown High School graduate majoring in music education.
Sarita Hopkins Weeks Excellence in Music Fund
To assist students who have demonstrated excellence in the area of piano music. Applicants must be graduating seniors form Falconer, Frewsburg, Maple Grove, Jamestown or Southwestern High Schools.

Helga Hulse Mozart Club Music Scholarship
To assist students from Chautauqua County with the cost of music instruction. Applicants must show promise as well as academic and vocational achievement. Students of any age are eligible for this scholarship. Deadline for application: May 1.
R. Richard Corbin Memorial Fund
To assist students from Jamestown, Falconer, Frewsburg, Bemus Point and Southwestern School Districts with the cost of instruction in music with an emphasis in piano, organ, musical theatre or music education. Deadline for application: May 1.
Elizabeth Warner Marvin Music Scholarship Fund
To assist students pursuing education and training in music. Applicants must reside in the James-town School District and be a student in grades K-11. Deadline for application: May 1.
Bill and Linda Knight Brass Scholarship
This award is for private music lessons. Applicants must reside in the Jamestown School District and be band students in grades 6-11 demonstrating music ability, commitment to music study and financial need. Deadline for application: May 1.
Edward and Marie Russo Memorial Suzuki Scholarship
This award is for education and training in music. Applicants must study in a Suzuki program within the City of Jamestown, be finished with Book I, and be a student in grades K-11. Applicants must also have attended one summer program, and participated in concerts and repertory groups. Deadline for application: May 1.
