JAMESTOWN - The Jamestown Concert Association will present Symphoria, formerly Symphony Syracuse, Central New York's new orchestra, in concert on Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Reg Lenna Civic Center. Neil Varon will conduct the orchestra featuring Julian Schwarz, cello soloist. Conductor Varon's career spans almost 40 years and several continents. In addition to conducting in the U.S., he also appears as a guest conductor for operas, symphonies and music festivals throughout Europe and Asia. Cellist Julian Schwarz, 21, is already being recognized as one of the finest cellists now before the public. Schwarz made his orchestral debut at 11 playing with the Seattle Symphony and currently performs with various symphony orchestras in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
The evening's program will include selections by Brahms and Haydn.
Tickets for the concert are $25 adult, $20 senior with a $3 discount for tickets purchased in advance. College students are $7.50 and students 18 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. All tickets are available at the Reg Lenna Civic Center Box Office.
