Genevieve M. VanWey, 97, of Dunkirk, died Tuesday evening, February 5, 2013, at the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk.
She was born in Dunkirk, January 26, 1916, daughter of the late Samuel and Stella (Czosnowski) Rutski. Genevieve was a retired
employee of Kraft Foods in Dunkirk. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church and a past member of the Senior Citizens Center. Genevieve loved to travel and enjoyed animals, especially her feline companion "Maggie." Surviving are her children, Patricia VanWey
Altweis and David (Kathleen) VanWey, both of Dunkirk; 3 grandchildren David VanWey, Timothy (Jeannine) VanWey and Randy (Andrea) VanWey; 4 great-granddaughters, Emily, Elise, Abbeyrose and Mia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Danieln who died in 1973; sisters Isabelle VandeVeldt and Mildred Briggs; and a brother Alton "Tony"
Rutski. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be
held Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Arrangements are by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk.
