Warren S. Erdle, 88, of Silver Creek, NY, passed away Wednesday (May 1, 2013) at the TLC Lake Shore Nursing Home, Irving, NY surrounded by his family.
He was born on Aug. 17. 1924 in Silver Creek, NY, the son of the late Robert and Ethel (Cogswell) Erdle.
A lifelong Silver Creek resident, Warren graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1942. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army-Air Force with the 884th Bombardment Squadron and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Warren worked for Bartlett Oil Co. for a number of years until he started his own business with his brother, Dean Erdle. The company was "Bee Auto Parts" in Silver Creek, NY, which he owned and operated until his retirement.
He was an avid bowler and golfer who achieved a hole-in-one at the age of 75.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia Gates (Martin) Erdle; children Linda Beach, Jane (Dr. Richard) Linderman and Warren Erdle; stepchildren Stephen (Elaine) Martin, Sara (Rick) Borgman, Wayne (J-Anne) Martin and Sean Martin; grandchildren Jeffrey Beach, Sara Linderman, Lt. Gregory Linderman, Alexander Erdle and Elizabeth Erdle; step-grandchildren Kara, Jessica, Haley, Sydney, Finn, Dierdre Martin and Jordan Borgman; four great grandchildren; a brother, Dean (Bernice) Erdle; and a sister, Evelyn (Robert) Eisenhard.
In addition to his parents, Warren was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy (Hazelton) Erdle; and his sisters, Julia Mathews, Margery Parsons and Carolyn Matrone.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek today from 2-4 and 7-9 where a funeral service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Thomas Burian officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Silver Creek Emergency Squad, 162 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY 14136.
