Mekenna Leid broke out of a hitting slump in a big way Friday to lift the Fredonia Lady Hillbillies (7-3, 11-3) past the Southwestern Lady Trojans, 5-1, in CCAA Division 1 high school softball.
In the bottom of the first inning, Alicia Deering drew a one-out walk and moved to third on a base hit from Bre Dahn. Baylee Tarnowski followed with an RBI single to plate Deering.
Then, Leid stepped to the plate and delivered a two-run triple. Leid scored on the play thanks to an error to make the score 4-0.
