LAKEWOOD - A pair of doubles teams from Panama and Olean advanced to the semifinal round of the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Doubles Tournament at the Lakewood Family YMCA on Thursday.
Advancing from Panama were Jack and Bryce Payne, and Greg Delahoy and Wyatt Jacks while moving on for Olean were the pairings of Mike Materna and Zhi Wang, and Kevin and Jake Volz.
The semifinals for both the doubles and singles tournament is slated for today at the Lakewood Family YMCA, with action beginning at noon.

All four doubles teams qualified for the Section 6 tournament - to be held on Tuesday at Lancaster - by virtue of their performances on Thursday.
The Payne brothers advanced to the quarterfinals when they defeated Aiden Lang and John Cole of Fredonia in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, and then beat Southwestern's Quinn White and Rahim Karimi, 6-2, 7-5.
Panama's Delahoy and Jackson first defeated Adam Girts and Marcus Lugo of Southwestern, 6-4, 6-1, and then toppled Maple Grove's Riley Beaton and Kyle Richardson, 6-4, 6-3.
Olean's Materna and Wang defeated Jefferson Dedrick and Katie Scott of Allegany-Limestone, 6-2, 6-0, in the second round and then bested Rob Rew and Liam Kulakowski of Jamestown, 6-1, 6-0, to reach the semfinals.
Fellow Huskies Volz and Volz defeated Maple Grove foes Andrew Lindstrom and Jon Anderson, 6-2, 6-1, in the second round and then got by Pat Brown and Geoffrey Broadbent, also of Olean, 6-0, 6-4, in the quarterfinals.
Playing in the singles semifinals today are Matt Johnson of Southwestern, Cooper Miller of Falconer, Zac Eklum of Jamestown and Erik Olson of Maple Grove.
