It is obvious that the seawall along the First Ward shoreline is in desperate need of repair. I'm sure we all agree on that.
It is my opinion, however, that the job must be done right. To put a $200,000 bandage on the seawall would be a terrible mistake. A repair job would only be a temporary fix, and would probably need more fixing in the near future especially if we get a few bad winter storms.
Where the money will come from is the problem. As a homeowner in Dunkirk I certainly don't want my taxes to rise, but sometimes there is no choice. If you're going to do a job, do it right.
