JAMESTOWN - Jamestown Police have arrested an Allen Street man after he was found with a gun Wednesday. Officers responded to Allen Street at 6 p.m. for the report of a man with a gun.
Officers found Jermaine D. Cooley, 33, of Buffalo standing on the back porch of the residence who matched the description. During further investigation, Cooley gave officers a false name and was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Officers also located an authentic looking metal pellet pistol.
Cooley was taken to the city jail where his identity was confirmed and discovered he was on parole through New York State Parole. During the booking, Cooley was found in possession of a small amount of crack cocaine. He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, false personation and unlawful possession of marijuana. The state division of parole will be following up with a possible violation of parole. Cooley was arraigned and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail.
