Charles M. Gilbert, 73, of Sheridan, died Friday evening, May 31, 2013, at Select Speciality in Erie, with his family at his side, following
a lengthy illness. He was born June 6, 1939, in Dunkirk, son of the late Charles E. and Belle (Michalski) Gilbert. A retired employee of
Niagara Mohawk Power at the Steam Station in Dunkirk, where he worked for over 26 years. A member of the former St. John Bosco R. C.

Church in Sheridan. Charles enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and trips to the farmers market. Surviving is his wife of 52 years Patricia A.
(Wdowiasz) Gilbert, whom he married August 20, 1960, their children Deborah (Raymond) Makuch of Dunkirk, Stephen (Laura) Gilbert and Charles Gilbert both of Sheridan, a sister Barbara Pagano of Dunkirk, grandchildren Nicholas and Kyle Adams, Brittany, Kraig and Emily Gilbert, Billy and Carl Makuch, along with several nieces and nephews also survive, and good friend and neighbor Bob Tryczenski. Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will
follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
