CORNELL - Silver Creek senior Danny Weimer finished his high school career as a member of the All-State golf team after finishing 12th at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association golf championships at Cornell University's Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.
Weimer finished 12th at the tournament with a 155 - eight strokes behind winner Davis Jensen of Section 2's Shaker High School.
Weimer shot a 74 on Sunday and an 81 on Monday, compared to Jensen's 74 Sunday and 73 Monday. Weimer was the third-best golfer from Section 6 as Randolph's Nolan Ditcher shot a 152 for fifth place and Williamsville North's David Berkun shot a 154 to take 10th.
Meanwhile, Fredonia's Joe Conti finished tied for 71st with a score of 172. He shot an 84 on Sunday and an 88 on Monday.
"The new State chairman complimented everyone," Fredonia coach Ross Conti noted. "There were 7,800 high school golfers who played this year, so being here is a great accomplishment."
Section 6 finished the tournament in fifth place and finished five strokes out of third place.
