South Dayton man charged after altercation
The victim and witnesses allege that Anderson punched another South Dayton man in the face while holding him by the throat and choking him. Reportedly the victim pushed his way past Anderson and then Anderson threatened him with a metal pipe.
The altercation occurred in Anderson's home after an argument over the use of some camping equipment.
Anderson is to appear in the Town of Cherry Creek Court later this month.
Frewsburg woman charged with violating Leandra's Law
About 10:45 p.m. an off-duty police officer called in a complaint of a vehicle driving all over the road and nearly crashing into the ditch on Route 62. Sheriff's patrol located the vehicle, driven by Szczesny and stopped it. Deputies believed she was operating the vehicle while impaired by prescription drugs. Because there was a 15-year-old passenger in the car, she was additionally charged under Leandra's Law (a felony).
Szczesny was taken to WCA Hospital for a blood test and later released. She is to appear in the Town of Kiantone Court at a later date.
State police from Collins conduct ABC inspections
On Friday troopers, working in conjunction with the NYS Liquor Authority, conducted Alcohol Beverage Control act compliance inspections of local businesses in Gowanda, South Dayton, North Collins, Otto, Cherry Creek, Cattaraugus and Forestville.
The following premises were inspected and found to be in compliance: Langford Superette, State Route 75, Langford; Shelley's Convenience Store, State Route 62, North Collins; South Dayton Supermarket, Pine Street, South Dayton; The Store & More, Main Street, Otto; Shop & Save, Buffalo Street, Gowanda; Brooks Market & Jenny Lee in Cattaraugus; Caves Food Center & Liquor Store, State Route 39, Forestville.
Troopers charged the following individuals with first-degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibited sale of alcohol to a person under the age of 21, in violation of the NYS Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, after they sold various kinds of alcohol to a 19-year-old agent: Jackie Chamberlin, 45, of Gable Street in Dayton, working at Kwik Fill in Gowanda; Richard Reitz, 58, of Walnut Street in Gowanda, working at Reitz Liquor in Gowanda; and Mendle Johnson, 66, of Main Street in Cherry Creek, working at Cross Roads Grocery Store in Cherry Creek.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department
At about 3:53 a.m. sheriff's patrol reportedly observed a vehicle drive onto the shoulder of the roadway several times for no apparent reason. Officers also reported saw the vehicle did not have a left sideview mirror.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and after investigation believed Pearson was intoxicated.
He was charged and released to a responsible third party. He is to appear in the Town of Kiantone Court at a later date.
Deputies stopped a vehicle on Allegany Road for reportedly failing to stop for a stop sign. Investigation led to the charges.
Doyle was processed and released with tickets. He will answer charges in the Town of Hanover Court.
