GOWANDA - Gowanda Harley-Davidson is inviting all experienced women riders of every make and model to join them for their annual Women's Fun Run, set to take place this weekend. Kickstands go up Saturday at 11 a.m. sharp and women from all over the area are hitting the road, escorted by the New York State Police motorcycle division.
The ride will include stops in Ellicottville for lunch and Yorkshire for Ice Cream.
"More and more women are moving from the back of the seat to the front of their own on a Harley," said Tim McKeever, marketing manager with Gowanda Harley-Davidson. "We are seeing more and more women getting their license, getting on a bike that fits them perfectly, accessorizing it to their personality, and getting on the open road, making a statement that they are just as independent on a motorcycle, and that's really exciting to us.
"Women are no different than men when it comes to riding. They want freedom for the craziness of life, they want to roll past a group of people and turn heads, and they want to be able to connect with friends, new and old, and there's no better way, and no better opportunities for women to ride, then here at Gowanda Harley-Davidson," he said.
In addition to the Women's Fun Run this Saturday, Gowanda Harley-Davidson also offers Iron Maidens, Gowanda Harley-Davidson's women's only riding group, which rides the last Tuesday of every month during the riding season. Plus, there are women's only events like the Garage Party and Women's Night. Learn more about women's events online at GowandaHarley.com of Facebook.com/GowandaHD.
