The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold its 9th annual Pat McGee Memorial Dog Walk-a-thon on Saturday, June 29 at Point Gratiot in Dunkirk. Registration is from 9 to 10 a.m, with the walk to begin at 10:15 a.m. This event is named in honor of the late New York State Senator Pat McGee who worked to fight animal cruelty and supported Buster's Law, also known as the Felony Animal Cruelty Law. Participants can register on-site, or registration forms can be downloaded from the LHS website. The cost is $15 for each registration. Each dog must have proper I.D. on its collar, be on a leash at all times and have an up-to-date rabies shot certificate to present at registration. There will be contests for dogs in various categories, as well as refreshments for sale. Even if you don't have a dog, come anyway! This is a fun activity that helps the efforts of the Lakeshore Humane Society. The rain date is June 30, with registration from 1 to 2 p.m. and the walk at 2:15 p.m. Call 672-1991 or see www.lakeshorehumanesociety.org for information.
