MAYVILLE - Lou Clementi, manager of Boat Rentals at Chautauqua Marina, Mayville, recently presented a fishing session to Cub Scout Pack 126. The scouts were preparing for the completion of their Fishing Belt Loop requirements as well as the Free Youth Fishing Contest, to be held during the National Marina "Scout Lake Day" Celebration on Aug. 3 at Chautauqua Marina. Supplies for the fishing session were donated by Chautauqua Marina, Watermark Restaurant and Harpers Bait and Tackle.
National Marina "Scout Lake Day" Celebration will be hosted this year by Cub Scout Pack 126. All Cub Scout Packs in the Allegheny Highlands Council are invited to join the free youth fishing contest. Fishing registrations can be obtained by emailing or calling the Chautauqua Marina at Boatsafety@aol.com or 753.3913.
The event is open to the public and is the marina's way of educating residents and visitors on the importance of keeping local waterways safe, clean and fun for years to come. In addition to the Free Youth Fishing Contest, Mike Sperry will present a Free Musky Fishing Seminar. There will also be a Boat Safety Class that meets all the requirements for the New York Safe Boating Program.
