David M. Allen, 67, formerly of Fredonia, a disabled veteran of both the United States Army and United States Air Force, died June 22 in the VA Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.
He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 6, 1946, the son of the late Ernest Allen and Elizabeth (Jim) Knoll Maxwell. He is survived by several cousins.
He graduated from Fredonia High School in 1964. He attended Fredonia State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1974. He was awarded a Masters Degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1984.
After serving his country in Viet Nam as a member of the Army, he was honorably discharged and completed his college education. He subsequently enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he achieved the rank of captain and served with the Strategic Air Command in North Dakota.
He was formerly employed at Kraft Foods and Red Wing. He attended the Harvest Chapel Free Methodist church.
He will be remembered for his enthusiasm, generosity, good humor and deeply held Christian faith.
His body was donated to the University of Buffalo medical school. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of his family at a later date.
