Fredonia advances, will play District 3’s Oakfield for Section 1 title

The Fredonia 11-12-year-old Little League softball all-star team won its Section 1 opener Sunday, 13-1, over District 4's Rush-Henrietta to advance to the Sectional title game today at 6 p.m. against District 3's Oakfield, at the Eagan Sports Complex on Clinton?Avenue, in Fredonia. Kelsey Vianese had a pair of hits and two RBIs for Fredonia in the win while Grace Pucciarelli and Julia Hill (three runs) each had a hit. Pucciarelli went the first two innings in the circle, striking out four and walking one, before Sydney Bigelow pitched the final two innings. She allowed Rush-Henrietta's only hit while striking out two and walking one. Pictured above, at left, is Sydney Bigelow delivering a pitch.
