Clara F. Allen, 100 years old, of the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk, New York, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening July 10, 2013 after an extended illness.
She was born in Dunkirk, New York on March 9, 1913, the daughter of the late Martin and Susan Ludes Feinan.
A homemaker, Clara grew up and lived her life in the Dunkirk area before coming to Brocton in 1934 to make her home. Clara also attended The Dunkirk Business School and was a member of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church (the former St. Patrick's Church of Brocton, New York.)
Clara was married to William Henry Allen whom she married in November 1934 and who passed away in 1974. Besides loving her family, she greatly enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She is survived by one daughter, DeLana Gilbert of Brocton, New York and one son, Thomas (Sham) Allen of Brocton, New York. Four grandchildren Susan (John) Harrell of Fredonia, New York, Scott Gilbert of Rochester, New York, Lynsey Allen and Chelsey Allen of Brocton New York; two great- grandchildren Michael (Tiffany) McCloskey and Pa-trick (Amy) McCloskey of Brocton, New York and two great-great- grandchildren Jena and Abigail of Brocton, New York.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one brother, James T. Feinen; and six sisters, Angela Mason, Mary Scholtes, Gertrude Reed, Helen Feinen, Margaret Braum and Martha Wolcott.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. from St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church of Brocton, New York where a Mass of Christial Burial will be celebrated by Father Joseph Walter. Interment will follow at ThePortland Evergreen Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave of Brocton, New York on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
