John D. Witherell, 62, of South Dayton, died unexpectedly July 22, 2013, at his residence. He was born June 19, 1951, to Margaret (Race)
Witherell and the late John F. Witherell of Gowanda N.Y. John enjoyed fishing, camping in the Adiron-dacks, listening to music and reminiscing about the good ol' times. He took enjoyment in helping others and was well liked within the community. John's wishes were to donate his body as an ana-tomical gift to the University of Buffalo. Survivors include his wife, Gloria (Klemens) Witherell; his children: Jackie Riggle of Jamestown,
N.Y., Julia Thomas of South Dayton, N.Y., and Michael Witherell of South Dayton, N.Y.; his grandchildren: Justice, Biancca, Ethan, Wyatt, Warren and John William aka Will; his siblings: Dave (Liz) Witherell of Gowanda N.Y., and Joyce (Dan) Fogarty of Gilbertsville Pa.; as well as several nieces and a nephew; and his beloved pets: Angie, Arnie and Oscar. Besides his father, John was preceded in death by his son, John Robert Witherell; and his sister, Carol (Witherell) Yackle. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
